About KENEP
Learn about KENEP, a band from Albuquerque, New Mexico, that blends Zouk and Konpa rhythm to celebrate the Martinican, Guadeloupean and Haitian culture.

Our Sound
Our music blends elements of zouk (originating in Guadeloupe and Martinique, known for electronic sounds, synths, and fast tempos) with compas (originating in Haiti, characterized by a smooth, melodic, and relaxed swing rhythm and prominent use of electric guitars and brass).

Our Cultural Expression
KENEP's music serves as a significant expression of French Antillean and Haitian culture, often featuring lyrics in French Antillean Creole. Our fundamental goal is for band members to express themselves creatively, bounce ideas off each other, and produce great Zouk/Compass fusion to electrify the public wherever we play. We strive to deliver high-energy and positive performances.
"KENEP's fusion of zouk and konpa is infectious and unique! Their music truly celebrates Caribbean culture."
